(2/14/13) New Scott Police Phone APP
It is with great pride that Chief Chad Leger and the Scott Police Department announces another big step with technology to better serve the residents and businesses of Scott. The Scott Police department is the first police department in the region to come out with a phone app. The app allows you to make quick calls to our department, send in tips, provides staff information by division which includes email addresses and much more. There are two main features in our app that we ask you to sign up for. The first is for Emergency Alerts, please allow push notifications when downloading the app as well as emailed newsletters. These features allows you to be notified of any emergencies, (road closures, accidents, chemical spills, hurricane updates, etc.) that are occurring in the City of Scott and surrounding area. Not only is this a great tool to have, but it is FREE on every IPHONE, IPAD and DROID devise. Please take advantage of this app and keep in touch with your police department by going to your app store on your devise and looking up Scott Police Department.
Professionally,

(1/4/13) City of Scott Business Directory
As chairman for the new "Scott Business Association and City of Scott Business Directory" that is presently being formatted for the new future in 2013, I wish to again invite you to take advantage of having your business being included with an affordable ad that will showcase your business in the Directory. This new Business Directory is a project of the SBA Business Development committee. Plans are to publish 5,000 copes and distribute at locations throughout Scott. The advertising purchased, must pay for the cost of production, since this project is NOT a fund-raiser for SBA. So far, I have 27 businesses committed with advertising, which equates to about half of what the cost of production will be. Although being very appreciative to those who have already responded, I feel there are many more SBA and Scott Businesses who should be included.
THIS IS YOUR DIRECTORY!
Therefore, I am urging any SBA member and Scott Business who have not yet responded, please do so immediately. A deadline will have to be set shortly to stop taking ads, so that the production deadlines with Hulco Printers have to be met. Remember, all ads must be paid with order, and checks must be made payable to SCOTT BUSINESS ASSOCIATION, AND MAILED TO
P. O. BOX 533, SCOTT 70583.
If you have not kept the last email with sizes and prices included, contact me by email @ fran1eb@aol.com, and I will send you another. Or you may call or text me on my cell at 337-581-0840, with your fax or email contact information, and I’ll get back to you.
Thanks,

(12/28/12) DOTD and City of Scott announces road closure
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), along with the City of Scott, announced today that starting Wednesday, January 2, Saint Mary Street between Benoit Patin Road and Apollo Road (La. 3168) will be closed to the traveling public due to construction related to the Scott roundabout.
This closure is estimated to remain in place over the next four months, weather permitting. Local access to businesses and the frontage road will be maintained while the closure is in place. To access Interstate 10, local traffic can detour using Benoit Patin Road and Apollo Road. The detour for truck traffic consists of Apollo Road (La. 3168) to U.S. 90.
